- Clogged Drains and Toilets: Without even realizing it, you may have a clog in your drain or toilet that is causing a leak.
- Aging or Old Pipes: The older your pipes are, the more likely they have a crack or weak spot causing a leak.
- Intrusive Tree Roots: Trees can find their way into your pipes, causing a leak.

How to Prevent Water Leaks
Following these steps on a regular basis is the best way to detect leaks early on:
- Check faucets and under sinks for drips and corrosion on pipes
- Avoid putting grease and other food material down your sink
- Drain water from your hot water tank every few months to remove sediment
- Remove faucet aerators regularly to remove debris and build-up
